A cinematic, inventive, heartwarming, and completely nerdtastic adventure from the bestselling author of Ready Player One

It’s just another day of high school for Zack Lightman. He’s daydreaming through another boring math class, with just one more month to go until graduation and freedom—if he can make it that long without getting suspended again.

Then he glances out his classroom window and spots the flying saucer.

At first, Zack thinks he’s going crazy.

A minute later, he’s sure of it. Because the UFO he’s staring at is straight out of the videogame he plays every night, a hugely popular online flight simulator called Armada—in which gamers just happen to be protecting the earth from alien invaders.

But what Zack’s seeing is all too real. And his skills—as well as those of millions of gamers across the world—are going to be needed to save the earth from what’s about to befall it.

Yet even as he and his new comrades scramble to prepare for the alien onslaught, Zack can’t help thinking of all the science-fiction books, TV shows, and movies he grew up reading and watching, and wonder: Doesn’t something about this scenario seem a little too…familiar?

  4. Neat! That cover is such a throwback design for Sci-Fi. What an awesome choice. Also, is this the guy who drove a DeLorean to the site where ATARI buried the ET game? I just watched that documentary this weekend.

    1. Yes it is the guy, Ernest Cline. The video is also up on his facebook. I think it is so cool he drives a DeLorean. I absolutely loved Ready Player One. I am a 80's baby and spent most of my younger years doing and watch all the cool stuff of the eighties. So of course I would love his writing and book. Memories! lol I just hope Armada is just as good. Thanks for check out my WOW!

    2. Ahhh... I am going to have to check him out now. My husband and I are definitely lovers of the 80's even though we were born in the middle/early 70's. Yes, we saw Star Wars in the theater, the first time! And yeah, my husband would drive the heck out of a DeLorean if he could fit our entire family in it. :)

    3. That is so awesome Beth. I would have to agree with your hubby, a DeLorean would be sweet. But I totally understand about the family thing. lol...
